A-Levels
It is safe to say that the A-Levels also known as the Advanced Level course is the most popular private pre university course in Malaysia. A-Levels are considered to be equivalent to form 6 in the UK. The A-Levels is popular as it could be a gateway to studying any course in any part of the world as the scope for A-Levels is very wide. here are two types of governing bodies from different parts of the UK. One is the Cambridge body and one is the London body. Students are allowed to take a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 4 subjects for A-Levels.

HSC / Ausmat
The South Australian Matriculation (SAM) has been taught in Malaysia since 1982 and is one of the more popular pre university courses around. It is a Year 12 pre-university Australian high school course and is accredited by the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE). The SAM is regulated by the South Australian government
AUSMAT is regulated by the West Australian government. AUSMAT and SAM are basically the same. Both are Year 12 pre-university Australian high school courses. It is up to the student in which institution they’d like to study at.SAM and AUSMAT takes one year to complete and is roughly 50% examination based and the remaining 50% is based on coursework.

College Foundation
Most of the time, this pre-university course is specific to the university that offers it. If students intend to switch universities, they may have to take extra credits so meet the requirements of the new university or retake another pre-university course.
